I must admit that I was beginning to regret my last post about Lewis Hamilton's poor recent performances

I admit I was casting around trying to find a reason for Lewis's somewhat lacklustre performances and then I saw the rather poor body language he was showing in Nicole's company. And I latched onto it.

However there may be other factors at work. His recent pit times have been somewhat longer than those of his team mate. I'm only talking about half a second or so but that is enough to lose a place. Notably this weekend when he came out of the pits just behind Vettel costing him a vital place at the chequered flag. Why would two sets of pit crews who undergo the same training and use identical equipment, show such a disparity in performance? One possibility suggests itself - a conspiracy at the highest level of McLaren to get rid of their top driver.
It's a bit strange considering that £20 million is alleged to be on the table to keep Lewis on side. I have to say that both parties deny that any discussion has taken place as yet but personally I think that the figure is sufficiently specific to suggest at the truth.
Perhaps the most significant question is; does Lewis really want to stay at McLaren? Well it has to be remembered that Lewis is a racer through and through. Winning is far more important than money and if he has lost the cooperation of his team then no amount of money will persuade him to stay there. It is unfortunate that Hamilton's friend and mentor Ron Dennis is no longer in charge at Mclaren and that the fastidious attention to detail that was the Ron Dennis trademark is equally absent.
The fuelling fiasco, for instance, that blighted the Spanish GP would never have happened had Ron still been principal.

Lewis has been adamant on Twitter recently insisting that he and McLaren are still pulling together and that they will get through this period. But this rather strikes me as protesting too much and speaking of that:
Can I be the only one who finds it a bit odd that Lewis and Nicole would arrange for pics like this to be taken during a short break together on the Italian Riviera. Unless of course he is trying to convince himself, his inamorata and the world that all is well.

But all is not well and it won't be until you start winning again Lewis
