Just to prove that I am not always a miserable old fart

So this is the first in an occasional series of entries featuring celebrities and artists whose mere presence, on TV, film or even just Twitter, never fails to cheer me up.

I first encountered the smouldering beauty of Laila Rouass in Series 7 (2009) of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. She made it to week twelve when she failed to be saved by the judges. A greater terpsichordian injustice has yet to be done in my opinion.

Prior to this Laila appeared as a character called Amber Gates in a TV series called Footballers' Wives which although not to my taste, I now bitterly regret not watching.
A couple of years later she appeared in Primeval which was another series slightly below my interest level and which I equally regret missing. However in 2010 she appeared in 5 out of the 7 episodes of Spooks which I enjoyed all the more because of her portrayal of Maya Lahan.
I did not know she was appearing in Holby City in 2011/2012 because I would not have normally watched it.
I think that to describe Laila merely as an actress is a trifle unfair because she really does not need a script to be interesting. Her dark lustrous eyes can tell an infinity of tales in themselves.
Laila is currently entertaining her 13000 + followers with her witty, inciteful, sexy and occasionally irreverend remarks on Twitter.
I look forward to seeing her natural beauty in whatever she chooses to do next and I can guarantee that I will not be so stuffy in my viewing choices.
