Oh please BBC. Do we really need another series of The Voice?

Not that I'll be watching it but I'm concerned about the amount of money it costs. Admittedly I don't really understand why these so-called talent shows need so much focus on the judges. In the good old days they would just have an old stalwart like Hughie Green and audience voting. I should say that the stars produced under that inexpensive system had far greater longevity that their equivalents do today.
So please BBC, leave the ratings led crap to ITV and get on with what you do best - quality drama and documentaries. If you cut The Voice entirely, you would not have to worry about finding replacements for Jessie whatsherface and Tom Jones. It wouldn't spoil anybody's life (a few less pop singers in the world would only be a good thing) and you could spend the money on giving us back full Formula One coverage.
