A swimming pool for those with an irritatingly limited vocabulary

Readers of this blog and my small band of Twitter followers will be aware of my intense dislike of the overuse and consequent devaluation of the word amazing
I can feel my blood pressure rise to dangerous levels every time I hear the word now, so you can imagine my emotions on finding this little item in the Mail Online.
It concerns a disused quarry near Buxton which has become flooded and the limestone in the area has given it a deep turqoise colour. However its inviting appearance belies its toxic qualities and high pH level which is not far short of that of bleach. It has also become a dumping ground for waste which includes dead animals and car wreckage. Warning notices abound but visitors are still atracted to the area and many swim or allow their children to do so despite the risks of skin and eye irritations, stomach problems and fungal infections.
These idiots include a certain Mrs Sam Ahmed who said it was alright for her children to go in the 'amazing' water, as long as they were no deeper in than their neck.
Says it all really.
