Testing has revealed the presence of horse DNA in Richard 111s skeleton.
And it may well provide an alternative explanation for his line: 'A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse.' in Shakespeare's eponymous play. Maybe he was just hungry rather than in need of a horse for escape purposes.
