I am the first to admit that I know sweet FA about women's fashion

To be frank I think that the industry itself is vastly overhyped and utterly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Far too much money and time is devoted to it and too much space in the media. Those farcical shows (Paris, Milan and London etc) where wretched looking girls parade up and down with completely unwearable parodies of clothing items draped over their adolescent boney skeletons! Okay maybe that was a little unkind - not all the models are wretched looking!
The ghastly Posh Spice designs clothes now and seems to garner far more publicity than her so-called creations merit. Gwyneth Paltrow, pictured on the right, is wearing a Victoria Beckham number which I am sure cost an absolute fortune. Yet I can see nothing whatever in its favour. It doesn't look as though it fits properly and that zip down the back just looks cheap and nasty.

I would also like to know why Gwynnie is wearing those shoes with the ankle bands that look like high visibility features. The whole subject is a puzzle to me.
