The interesting betting market for #RoyalBabyNames

The market is being formed around the assumption that the offspring will be a girl - presumably because of the Middletons progeny being two females and one male, which is a rather flimsy reason to risk money. Notwithstanding that the odds being offered on a female birth is 4/6 at best Stan James going as low as 1/2. Odds being offered about a male birth is 13/8. For the punter it is a fair market although not one that appeals to me.

As far as actual names are concerned a vast array of options are quoted from Alexandra (presumably after The Queen's cousin) at evens to Kai and Brooklyn at 1000/1. Diana is quoted at 10/1 and I'm surprised that it is not shorter considering that James (maybe for Kate's brother) is the same price.

However I have a feeling for Alice after Princess Alice the maternal great-grandmother of Prince Philip. I don't know why, it's just a feeling in my water and I'm going to support that feeling with a small investment at 16/1 courtesy of Ladbrokes.
