They "pop" things in the oven, "pop" to the shops, "pop" things back in the box and more besides. Does their use of "pop" imply something more than "put" or "go"? And if so what?
It's not as if "pop" is any shorter or easier to pronounce than the alternatives.
"Pop" is rapidly overtaking "amazing" as my least favourite word in modern English usage. Well okay maybe not quite yet, but it's getting there
