There are many things I hate about Christmas - the music is far from the least of them. But what I really detest more than almost anything is the kind of doublethink that persuades people to accept anything because it may be in a good cause and it is the season of goodwill after all.
Unfortunately The Military Wives choral offering scores a double whammy in my book. To me they sound like a bunch of squaddies wives on a drunken karaoke night in a backstreet bar in Aldershot. Okay well maybe not quite that bad but I'm sure that several of them are singing off key or at least flat. To me it sounds utterly horrible and now we have the bad news that they are contemplating an album.
I agree that they have an excellent cause in the British Legion and their other service charities but please give my ears a rest now that you've had your number one.
But most unpleasant of all is that they are the ugliest bunch of squaddies wives I have ever seen.
