I suppose they'll be calling it East Chelsea next

A £475,000 grant from the Government’s Working Neighbourhoods Fund and money from Waltham Forest Council has been spent on this section of the Leyton High Road in a foolhardy attempt to fool Olympic games visitors into thinking that London's East End is a more desireable area than it really is.

I suppose that it's what the Olympic committee is calling the refurbishment of the East End and conning us into thinking that something of lasting value will come of this farce.

What about jobs? What about social housing? No of course not!

As long as a few VIPs can be ferried through London (no doubt passing through this little part of Leyton) in their special traffic lanes, nobody cares.
