By publishing the naked Prince Harry pic

The Sun newspaper once again demonstrates that it does not understand the difference between "in the public interest" and "of interest to the public" And even the claim that it is in the public interest is a blatant lie because the only interest is that of their own profit.

Furthermore if it truly was in the public interest, that purpose is entirely served by the facts of the matter and any pictures are superfluous and of purely prurient interest.

I think that the Sun will also find that if a court upholds the view that the publication of the pics is a breach of privacy the defence that the pics were already in the public domain will hold no water at all. The Sun Newspaper Group will be liable to the same prosecution as if they had been the first to publish.

But all that is really irrelevant. What is of concern is the damage that has been done to all the good work put in by the Royal Family during the Jubilee celebrations and by the lighthearted contribution made by The Queen herself at the Olympics opening ceremony. In fact if I were Her Majesty I would have given Prince Harry a right royal slap.

Harry has to learn that he will never earn the respect due to a senior royal if he does not respect himself.
