From a personal perspective All these extended television appeals fall into the same category - a total waste of time and an unnecessary aggravation. If I want to give to a charity I will do so in my own good time. I really don't need a bunch of vastly overpaid 'personalities' wasting airtime in some overblown and overhyped spectacular telling me to do so. If they are that keen then they can give some of their own inflated fees. They are really only doing it in the hope of some random OBE or CBE or somesuch award anyway.
And another thing. There's little enough of any quality on television nowadays without occupying an entire evening chugging as Red Nose Day did on the BBC on Saturday night.
As for singer Jessie J and her pathetic stunt of having her hair shaved off. It's just publicity. All the sycophantic arse licking press coverage of how she 'totally rocked the look'. Emmm no she didn't. She just looked like any other woman who'd shaved her head for whatever other reason, like chemo therapy, nits or even just alopecia. In fact I'm not sure that it isn't actually an insult to cancer victims.
It's all just desperate publicity seeking vainglorious bullshit and I've had enough of it.
