In an article unusually short of pictures the Mail Online headline states:
"Women players taking legal action against 'sexist' European Handball Federation for rules saying they must wear small bikinis while men can wear what they want"
I find this a bit strange for three reasons.
First, I never knew that it was an actual rule that the girls had to wear skimpy outfits - I imagined it was just generosity on the part of the players.
Second, do they really imagine they will have any fans left if the girls are allowed to cover up entirely. Beach Volleyball is not the most fascinating sport in the world - it's just playing in the sand on holiday. And I never ever watch men playing.
Third, there is obviously someone in the European Handball Federation who is attracted to girls' midriffs. Personally I would allow the ladies to wear one-piece outfits but I would definitely apply a minimum bust size rule.
