#BrazilVSGermany I have absolutely ZERO interest in football and this pic is one of the reasons why

There is something intrinsically wrong with any sport where the fans become so aroused that they behave in this manner. Of course when I say that there is something wrong, I don't mean that kicking a ball around itself encourages the kind of senseless aggression and vandalism depicted. Nor am I saying the sport should be banned because of the behaviour of the fans. I'm simply saying that this is part of the reason I don't like football. I truly believe that it is a game played by the illiterate for the entertainment of inarticulate mindless morons.
So, as you would expect, I did not intentionally watch the World Cup semi last night. But I switched over to BBC one expecting to find something else on (my poor old brain can no longer cope with the intricacies of the football/no football schedules. And behold there was a game with a quite remarkable scoreline. It was 7-0 at that point. What kept me watching was the statement by the commentator that, "Brazil is playing brilliant football."
I kept watching expecting to see something staggeringly good. But what I actually saw (and bear in mind that I know bugger all about the game now) was a bunch of players constantly and, seemingly unnecessarily, passing the ball back to each other. A lot of this was happening when the player in possession was not even threatened in any way.
On one occasion a German player actually kicked the ball back to the goalkeeper from near enough the centre line!
Now when I was a youngster I played football at school - it was more or less mandatory in Glasgow - good football was attacking football. You ran forward with the ball and passed it to your mates if an opposing player looked like making a strong tackle. It's a simple strategy but I saw nothing of it last night. Instead I saw the German side playing a defensive game and I can only conclude that they were playing a better defensive game than the Brazilians.
Like I say I know nothing about the game these days but I wish that the moronic stiffs that hold the microphones and write articles in the press would not stuff such nonsense down the throats of the fans who then go out and cause the kind of mayhem pictured above.
Of course I'm not saying that one remark by a semi-literate BBC commentator can actually have sparked mob vandalism, I'm just pointing out some of the reasons that I have zero interest in football nowadays.
