An end to the disgraced peace process is a price well worth paying

Deputy First Minister and former (or so he claims) IRA official Martin McGuinness has made threats against the continuance of the peace process in Nothern Ireland if Gerry Adams is not released without charge. Well so be it say I. The so-called peace process was a surrender by the treacerous Tony Blair and a betrayal of every soldier who died in Ulster and of the families of every civilian murdered by the IRA there and on mainland Britain.
Justice may at last be done for the family of Jean McConville who was murdered by an IRA death squad 42 years ago. We can only hope so but I doubt very much that her shade will be able to rest in peace quite yet as Adams’ lawyer Barra McGrory QC is now the director of public prosecutions in Northern Ireland.
So for the moment all I can say is as far as Adams' future is concerned - 3 nights in prison, only about 15000 more to go!

Anybody who believes that John Downey's release was a blunder by the Police Service Of Northern Ireland needs their head examined

I feel sick every time I listen to a news broadcast saying that John Downey is walking free from charges that he was responsible for the vile attack on the Household cavalry in Hyde Park in 1982. I feel sick not only because I was in Hyde Park myself on that horrible day and saw the aftermath. I will never forget the tragic sight of those magnificent horses lying in the road in pools of blood - the four cavalry men who were murdered had been removed or their bodies covered by the time I reached the scene while the injured were being taken away in ambulances.
I also feel sick because I know with absolute certainty that the letter which was sent to Downey was a direct result of Tony Blair's treacherous and cowardly Good Friday agreement rather than merely another blunder by the Sinn Fein infiltrated PSNI or the feckless CPS. And the fact that David Cameron is unwilling to take the matter further proves it as far as I'm concerned because there is very little to choose between him and Blair in the treachery stakes.

Not exactly unmitigated grief over the death of Nelson Mandela

While the world mourns the loss of a man who undoubtedly did so much to obtain freedom and equality for his people, it ought to be remembered that his actions were not always as saintly as is now portrayed. The photo above shows him smiling and laughing with Martin McGuinness, a former commander of the IRA and Gerry Adams, former leader of Sinn Féin (the political wing of the IRA). Indeed there is considerable evidence that Adams was at one time a commander of the IRA himself though he denies it now (well he would wouldn't he?)
Mandela was once a commander of MK which was the armed faction of the ANC whose methods of political persuasion involved placing a petrol soaked tyre around the neck of a dissenter, man woman or child, and setting it ablaze. A method of torture even more barbaric than the IRA's favoured kneecapping.
Okay you may say that this photo was just the result of a photo op but it's still a very public display of the close alliance between the revolutionary movements in Ireland and South Africa.

Indeed Martin McGuinness is quoted in the Derry Journal, as recently as yesterday, as saying that 'Nelson Mandela was a true friend to Ireland'. It is a well known fact that the IRA helped carry out one of the biggest bomb attacks against the South African apartheid government - the bombing of the Sasol oil refinery in Sasolburg, near Johannesburg, on June 1st 1980. Nor is there any dout that Gerry Adams arranged for two of the IRA's military experts to meet some MK members in Dublin and take them for a period of military training at a safe location in the republic.

It would be naive to believe that there was no payback for the IRA as a reward for the assistance and it is a matter of record that the MK helped obtain AK47 weapons from the Palestinians which were then sold on to the IRA.

Also when the peace negotiations between the Government and the IRA led to the laughable IRA offer to put it's arms beyond use and allow independent observers to monitor its weapons dumps. Cyril Ramaphosa (a senior ANC member) was appointed, after being nominated by Gerry Adams, as one of the two observers to verify that the IRA arms dumps were sealed. It will be recalled that the IRA weapons turned out to have been so old that they were virtually useless in any case.

Now, while I'm not suggesting that Nelson Mandela himself took part in any 'ring of fire' activities nor that he personally gave aid to the IRA, it is a matter of record that he was a member of an organisation which did exactly both those things.

Entirely predictable response from the IRA on the arrest of the Hyde Park Bomber

In 1982 an improvised explosive device was detonated in Hyde Park killing four members of the Household Cavalry and eleven of their horses. A number of police officers and other civilians were injured.

I am delighted to say that John Anthony Downey of County Donegal, Ireland was arrested at Gatwick airport on Sunday and has been charged with the murders of Roy Bright, Dennis Daly, Simon Tipper and Geoffrey Young.

This has brought forth a statement from Sinn Fein which falls exactly into the category of, "They would say that wouldn't they" because it was so utterly predictable.
Sinn Fein Assembly Member Gerry Kelly said:

The decision to arrest and charge John Downey in relation to IRA activities in the early 1980s is vindictive, unnecessary and unhelpful. It will cause anger within the republican community.

Of course it is as vindictive, unnecessary and unhelpful as are the continuing criminal and violent activities of the IRA and its offshoots in Northern Ireland to this day.
But I have a feeling that the murderous Gerry Kelly's comments are more rooted in his fear that more of his own evil past may catch up with him in the near future.
Kelly was, of course, the 'Old Bailey bomber' who killed one and injured two hundred with a car bomb in 1973. He also shot a prison officer during his escape from Long Kesh in 1983.

There is one man responsible for the riots in Belfast

One man is keeping very silent about the current rioting in Belfast in spite of his expressed wish to return to mainstream politics (god forbid). That man is Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, whose cowardly policy of appeasement with the terrorists and murderers of the IRA has inevitably resulted in the loyalist population feeling marginalised. Rioting is the only form of protest left to them since there are so many previously active IRA members in parliament and other political offices.

Even with Tony Blair out of office they cannot pin any hopes on David Cameron since he seems determined to follow the same naive policies.

The dishonest letter from the MOD to former paratroopers

If I had been a member of 1 Para on duty in Londonderry during 'Bloody Sunday' in 1972, I would be considering emigration right now because it is obvious that the anonimity offered by previous inquiries is not worth the paper upon which it was written.

A letter recently sent to veterans from the MOD, with regard to the latest inquiry by the PSNI into the events of 30th January 1972, states:

The purpose of this letter is to reassure you of the MoD’s policy to support its people, whether serving or veterans, in circumstances when their actions, conducted in good faith whilst on operations, come under judicial scrutiny.

But an MOD spokesman has said:

We may be obliged to provide the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) with details of former soldiers. We will take great care to identify the names that are subject to an anonymity order clearly so that they continue to be protected.

But this is as dangerous as it is treacherous because the minute the names are identified to the PSNI the former terrorists in Westminster will get to work researching the current addresses of each one and those of their families.

It seems that the MOD intend to release the names if former troopers do not volunteer to come forward themselves.

And it will be no use appealing to David Cameron for help as he is every bit as cowardly as Tony Blair.

Note: The PSNI was the outfit set up by Blairs cowardly peace process to replace the Royal Ulster Constabulary and is infiltrated with IRA sympathisers.

Another grass comes out of the woodwork to aid the treacherous Historical Enquiries Team

An unnamed (so far) former member of the Military Reaction Force has decided, presumably for his own cowardly reasons, to publicise accounts of the activities of his unit in Northern Ireland during the 'troubles'

The Military Reaction Force was a forerunner to the slightly better known DET and was a clandestine unit charged with identifying and neutralising active IRA members.
They operated a shoot to kill policy which saved an unaccountable number of civilian and military lives. The numbers can never be truly assessed because of the pre-emptive nature of their operations.

It appals me that their activities are being investigated and I think it's a crass betrayal of our armed forces and the relatives of those innocent civilians murdered by the IRA.

I'd like to know why Tony Blair's "surrender to Irish terrorism" policy is being pursued by David Cameron's government.
And is there any chance of those IRA killers alive and walking the corridors of Westminster being brought to justice?
No, I rather thought not.

I don't think the police will have to look very far

To find the people responsible for the Birmingham pub bomb in 1974. Despite their convictions being quashed in 1991, it was well known by those close to the investigations that the original convictions were correct. And that is borne out by the fact that the case was not reopened after the successful appeal case.
I cannot even guess what the motive might be to reopen a case now especially as there isn't any real new evidence. The statement by the West Midlands Police merely says that they want forensic experts to examine potential new evidence.
I can only surmise that there is a political motive linked in some way to the cowardly politics of appeasement that led to the 6 IRA scum being released by the Court Of Appeal.
It will be interesting to see how the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit talk themselves out of the situation when the forensic investigation proves that the original convictions were sound. But my bet is that nothing will be heard of this ever again.

I felt physically sick when I saw this headline

That image of the Queen shaking hands with that murdering IRA scum Martin McGuinness was bad enough but this piece of news makes my stomach heave.
I would not blame any serving soldier, wherever he happens to be deployed, if he were to put in his papers right at this minute because it is blatantly obvious that the country he serves is prepared to turn its back on him.
Most of the provo members who committed acts of atrocity against civilian women and and children in the UK and Ireland have long been released or had their sentences overturned. A great many of them have never even been pursued for various cowardly reasons of political expediency.
Three weeks after Bloody Sunday, the IRA detonated a car bomb outside the Parachute Regiment’s officers’ mess at Aldershot Barracks. Among those killed were a Roman Catholic priest, a gardener and five civlian women who worked in the catering department. There has never been an inquiry into their deaths and presumably never will be.
Northern Ireland was the worst possible kind of posting. Not only were our soldiers risking the bullets and home made bombs of the IRA, but they got spat on and stoned by children who were actively encouraged by the provos who were always hiding amongst the civilian population on the streets. Weapons would often be concealed by members of the public either before a shooting incident or in the immediate aftermath. So it is perhaps understandable that incidents occurred such as the one in Londonderry on Sunday January 30, 1972.
In fact it is well known that Martin McGuinness himself was present amongst the demonstrators on Bloody Sunday and he was seen waving an automatic weapon. How much trouble and how many lives might have been saved had one of the Paras put a bullet in him on that day can only be speculated upon.
Members of the armed forces have never received any thanks or recognition for their services in Northern Ireland. No campaign medals were awarded as it was never classified as a war although the 53 Paras who were killed by the IRA over there are just as dead as if it had been.

What a terrible present to give an elderly lady for her Diamond Jubilee

Being made to shake hands with one of the scum responsible for the murder of her much loved cousin. And of course it's part of the legacy left to us by the lying, treacherous regime of Tony Blair.
I can only hope that the souls of all those murdered by the IRA are waiting for him in hell.

Misleading and misguided - yet another fail by the Daily Mail

I have been asked why I keep reading the Daily Mail online when it annoys me so much. Well the answer is deeply philosophical - not! But of course the bloody thing is still there whether I read it or not. Here it is rewriting facts and social history to suit some strange agenda of its own.

So Daily Mail, can we be quite clear that there is NO such place as Derry. Just because the republican residents of Londonderry prefer to abreviate the name does NOT make it so. And secondly LONDONDERRY is NOT going to be Britain's city of culture (whatever that is and however wildly inappropriate it might be) in 2013 or any other year. Because Londonderry is in Northern Ireland which is a part of the United Kingdom and not in Great Britain. You see (god help me it's like talking to a child), the United Kingdom comprises Great Britain AND Northern Ireland. Gettit!

If a newspaper cannot get these things right, what hope is there for us in the greater scheme of things?

And in the greater scheme of things, I also have to point out that the entire article is a piece of devious bullshit almost from beginning to end.

Anyone who had anything to do with Northern Ireland during the "troubles" knows that the IRA and Provisionals used sectarianism, the bombing campaigns and murders as cover for their criminal activities. A fact which was completely ignored by Tony Blair and his government in their haste to surrender "on terms."

Truthfully, I do not know whether the Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD) is a separate organisation or a splinter group of the Provisional IRA, but I am absolutely certain that it is not any kind of genuine vigilante group aiming to reduce drug dealing in Northern Ireland. Quite the reverse! What it seems to be doing is effectively reducing the competition leaving the streets open to its own dealers.

I suspect that it is a splinter group intended to give an apparent distance from the Provisional IRA (please remember that you should read Sinn Féin whenever you see IRA - they are one and the same). And all of the pleas by Martin McGuinness to get members of the public to give up the names of RADD members is done in the certain knowledge that no one is going to risk a reprisal punishment for informing (usually kneecapping).

Another matter of concern here is that the Daily Mail has been increasingly using articles about superficial news stories which mask paid advertisements. It makes me wonder if the paper is publishing propaganda for the IRA. Somebody must be paying them to print this crap
