I really don't understand the ins and outs of this business. I don't see why a deadline for an appeal to the European Court Of Human Rights should make any difference as to whether we can export Abu Qatada back to Jordan to face trial or not. He was always going to appeal the decision anyway surely?
But what I am sure about is that a Home Secretary, whatever legal decisions she is currently facing, should not be schmoozing with Z list celebrities. Theresa May was attended a party to celebrate the 50th birthday of showbusiness agent Jonathan Shalit on Tuesday night. Other guests included sex tape singer Tulisa Contostavlos, lubricious Kelly Brook and the extremely shallow daytime presenter Lorraine Kelly.
Okay so, Home Secretary or not, she is entitled to a social life. But wouldn't it be more responsible if she picked with more care those with whom she socialises. For example, people less likely to be involved in legal or personal turmoil.
