First Strictly Come Dancing shows and the betting market moves accordingly

Brucie's gags seem to be getting more rambling and even less funny as time goes on. He did one before Colin Salmon's dance which was supposed to be a play on a 007 script which made me cringe. I may have to record the shows so I can FF through his jokes as I believe many others are doing now.

And Tess turned up for the second show in a dress which looked like a mullet, unfortunately highlighting her legs which are getting horrifyingly scrawny.

Somebody on Twitter has started a drinking game based on the number of times Darcey says "yah" during the evening. Binge drinking is going to be an even more serious problem by the end of the series unless she is stopped.

Must say I'm sorry to see the return of the over-prompted audience. There were far too many undeserved standing ovations.

Louis Smith Good hip action for a first outing. Very fixed expression which I suppose is down to nerves. Maybe thinking too much. All the 5/2 is gone. I'm not too worried about my win bet so far.
Best price now: 9/4 with Ladbrokes and others

Kimberley Walsh As glossy and polished as you'd expect. But she does nothing for me. Moved into jt. 2nd fav
Best price now: 7/2 with Coral and others

Denise van Outen Just the kind of polished self-assured performance that you'd expect from someone of her professional experience.
Best price now: 7/2 with William Hill and others

Victoria Pendleton Obviously well out of her comfort zone but I think Brendan may given her too much to do. Hated her costume
Best price now: 14/1 with Ladbrokes and others.

Sid Owen Lovely waltz, hair on the back of the neck job. Good posture and excellent storytelling. It may all be down to Ola's uncanny ability to make a pork chop look good on the dancefloor but my dark horse bet is looking GOOD.
Best price now: 16/1 with Bet365. Get your money down e/w.

Nicky Byrne No storytelling or even any connection with Karen
Best price now: 16/1 with Sky Bet

Dani Harmer Darcey said that; "dancing is about travelling, yah" I think she meant the kind with caravans! Dani looked like a pink blancmange and danced like one too.
Best price now: 18/1 with Sporting Bet.

Lisa Riley No discernable attempt at technique. Had enough of her already
Best price now: 25/1 with Bet365.

Colin Salmon He obviously enjoyed his Cha Cha and it was fun to watch
Best price now: 28/1 with Stan James

Michael Vaughan He's no Mark Ramprakash and doesn't even seem to know that there is a 'T' in Natalie. I'm quite sorry for her as she's a real grafter.
Best price now: 50/1 with Sky Bet.

Fern Britton Already seen enough of her legs. An awful lot of skirt wafting.
Best price now: 80/1 with Coral

Jerry Hall Complete disappointment! She just seemed to wiggle about the floor from one pose to the next. And I'm tired of her Southern drawl already - I never thought that would happen.
Best price now: 100/1 with Coral and others

Richard Arnold To me he had the glassy-eyes and fixed rictus of someone who's about to throw up. TAXI!
Best price now: 125/1 with Ladbrokes and others.

Johnny Ball He seemed to be in some kind of spasm and as Len said; "It was all a bit Last of The Summer Wine" Don't think Latin is his thing. But I don't really care. Not bothered if he goes off to join Aliona with some kind of psychsommatic injury. Dropping off the chart
Best price now: 125/1 with Ladbrokes and others

Conclusion
I'm not panicking about my win bet on Louis Smith. There's a long way to go, though I am concerned that he doesn't seem to fancy Flavia. Which might be bad news in the long run.
My bet on Sid Owen looks healthy and I seem to have been right about him being the dark horse.
Anyone looking for a value bet could now consider Victoria Pendleton as she has dropped outside the 10/1 mark and has possibly the greatest scope for improvement. Each way only I would suggest.
