Of course it wasn't a shock that Fern Britton got herself eliminated this week but it was a surprise at least that she was joined in the bottom two by Kimberley Walsh. Kinberley has delivered a consistent standard of performance so far this series - consistent, that is, for a pop singer in a glam girl band. Rather bland in other words but considerably better viewing than Fern's persistent skirt wafting.
I know that not everybody can have nicely toned and shapely legs but those of us that don't tend to keep them covered. There must have been something wrong with Fern's dancing tights on Saturday night because we were treated to an unedifying glimpse of her waxy upper thighs. Good riddance, I say.
I'd be quite happy to say goodbye to Richard Arnold sooner rather than later. I'm tired of that expression of a surprised cod that he always wears. I'm astounded that he's lasted as long as he has.
Another thing that surprised me is the amount of support to be found on Twitter for Claudia Winkleman. I don't find her in the least funny and I loathe her little catch phrases like "I just did a tiny, tiny wee." And her overdone girliness. And her breathless enthusiasm. And her bloody preciousness. And the way she looks like an anorexic panda with a serious shoe fetish. Ah yes, those shoes! Okay I appreciate the way high heels improve a girl's legs but her's are just stupid and dangerous.
And why does she have so many followers on Twitter. Her tweets are not amusing and consist mainly of spam for her dress and shoe designers and retailers. Why would anyone follow somebody like that?
Oh yes. The 'F' word featured in the title of this piece refers to a bit of a nervous giggle had by all when Len commented to Lisa Riley that she had the 'F' factor. Then he explained that he meant Foxtrot, Footwork and Fun. Bloody hell Len, you had Twitter balancing precariously on its perch there.
The all-important betting at the top now stands like this:
Louis Smith:
Now down to odds on with evens the best available at the likes of Coral.
His constant like of involvement with his sexy partner could well be explained in this post of mine here.
Denise van Outen:
5/2 and 9/4 generally available with 11/4 the best in a single place (YouWin).
I find her dances dramatic - as they should be with her level of experience - but by no means hair-on-the-back-of-the-neck dramatic. Or even interesting for that matter.
Kimberley Walsh:
I've explained what I think about Kimba above and it seems the public may agree because 6/1 can be obtained now from Ladbrokes.
The rest are not worth mentioning at all save to say that anyone searching for a last attempt at an each way bet as a replacement for Kimberley as a top three finisher might consider Lisa Riley at 20/1 (Paddy Power and SkyBet).
I won't be availing myself of it though because nothing would induce me to bet on somebody I dislike as much as I do her. Not even the prospect of financial reward!
